What the price calculator works out

Profit per order
What one order earns on average, with the orders that come back already counted. This is the figure to price against.
Expected profit ÷ listed price
That profit as a percentage of your selling price, so two products at different prices can be compared.
Break-even price
The lowest selling price at which you stop losing money. Anything below it costs you on every order.
Price for a target profit
Type the profit you want per order and the calculator works backwards to the price to list at.

How Meesho profit and margin are calculated

Selling price minus cost is not your profit. Three things come off first.

  1. Step 1

    Start with a delivered order

Selling price, minus the GST inside it, minus commission and any fixed fee, minus the product and its packing. That is what one order earns when it is delivered and kept.

  2. Step 2

Count the orders that come back

A courier return (RTO) or a customer return earns nothing. The product comes back to you, but the packing is spent and a return charge may be deducted. The calculator spreads that loss over every order.

  3. Step 3

    Take off ads

Ads are paid for whether or not the order is delivered, so they are counted on every order placed.

Where to find your commission, GST and return charge

The calculator is only as right as the rates you give it, and they are different for every seller. These come from your own account, not from a table on a website.

Commission
Use a current rate verified for your account. The tool publishes no universal marketplace fee.
GST
The rate that applies to your product, already inside the price the customer pays. Enter 0 if you do not charge GST.
Return charge
Listed against each returned order in your payment file. Use the amount you actually see there for your product weight.
RTO and return rates
How many of every 100 orders come back. If you already sell on Meesho, your own numbers are the best guide; if not, start with a cautious guess and revise it.

Already selling? Check the price against real payments

This calculator estimates. Once orders have settled, the Meesho profit calculator reads your payment file and shows the profit and loss each SKU actually made, including your real RTO and return rates. Bring those rates back here the next time you set a price.

Meesho pricing, answered

What sellers ask most about setting a price.

How do I calculate my selling price on Meesho?

Add up what the product and its packing cost you, decide the profit you want per order, and enter both in the calculator along with your commission, GST and return rates. The Price for a target profit box then shows the price to list at. It is higher than cost plus profit, because part of every rupee goes to GST and fees, and some orders come back.

Does this include Meesho commission?

It includes whatever rate you enter. Commission depends on your category and Meesho changes it from time to time, so the calculator does not assume one. Check the rate in your supplier panel and type it in — if your category is 0%, leave it at 0.

Why does my profit drop so much when I add returns?

Because a returned order does not just earn nothing — it costs you the packing and, for a customer return, usually a return charge as well. Ten returns in a hundred orders means ninety orders have to pay for all hundred parcels. That is why the calculator shows profit per order placed, not per order delivered.

Does it treat a returned product as lost?

No. It assumes the item comes back and can be sold again, so only the packing and the return charge are counted. If some returns come back damaged, add the average value you lose to Charge per customer return.

What is the break-even price?

The selling price at which an order neither earns nor loses once returns and ads are counted. It is the floor: a discount or a sale price that takes you below it loses money on every order.

How is this different from the profit calculator?

This one works before you list: you type in costs and a price. The Meesho profit calculator works after you have been paid: it reads your payment file and shows what each SKU actually earned. Use this to set a price, and that to check the price was right.
