Build a Meesho price and profit calculator in Excel or Google Sheets. The exact formulas for GST, commission, returns, margin and break-even price.

Updated

Build a Pricing worksheet with the cells and validated formulas below, or use the online price calculator. The example figures are synthetic, not marketplace rates.

Set up the inputs

The Pricing sheet uses column B for inputs. Amounts are INR; enter 5 for 5%, not 0.05.

Cells Inputs
B5–B7 Selling price including GST, product cost, packing cost
B8–B11 GST %, commission %, shipping and other deductions per delivered order, ads %
B12–B15 RTO %, charge per RTO, customer return %, charge per customer return
B16 Target profit per order placed

Rates and charges are editable. Use verified account evidence. Zero fees exclude those costs. Do not count the same deduction in both shipping and return costs. Both return percentages use all orders placed as their denominator; together they cannot exceed 100%.

Returned stock is assumed resellable. Include average damaged-stock loss in the relevant return-cost input. This differs from the payment-file tool’s editable stock-loss assumptions.

Validation and formula outputs

B18 checks that all 12 inputs are numeric and nonnegative, percentages are within 0–100, and combined returns are at most 100%. Add Excel stop validation for the allowed numeric ranges; the formula check also guards against invalid pasted values. Outputs stay blank while B18 reports an input problem.

Cell Output Core arithmetic, after validation
B19 GST inside price B5*B8/(100+B8)
B20 Delivered-order profit before ads B5-B19-B5*B9/100-B10-B6-B7
B21 Share delivered and kept MAX(0,1-B12/100-B14/100)
B22 Returns cost per placed order B12/100*(B7+B13)+B14/100*(B7+B15)
B23 Expected profit per placed order B21*B20-B22-B5*B11/100
B24 Expected profit ÷ listed price B23/B5, undefined when price is zero
B25 Kept per price rupee B21*(1-B8/(100+B8)-B9/100)-B11/100
B26 Break-even price (B21*(B10+B6+B7)+B22)/B25
B27 Target price (B16+B21*(B10+B6+B7)+B22)/B25

Each output is guarded with IF(B18="Valid",… ,""). The workbook handles zero price with No listed price in B24. If B25 is zero or negative, solved prices show Target unreachable rather than dividing by zero. The online calculator rounds solved listing prices up to the next whole rupee; the workbook shows the exact price so the calculation can be inspected.

Check the synthetic example

With price ₹299, product ₹150, packing ₹10, GST 5%, RTO 10%, customer returns 10%, other charges zero and target ₹50:

  • GST inside price: ₹14.238095…
  • Expected profit per order placed: ₹97.809524…
  • Expected profit ÷ listed price: 32.7122…%
  • Exact break-even: ₹170.625; whole-rupee listing ₹171.
  • Exact target price: ₹236.25; whole-rupee listing ₹237.

The percentage averages all placed orders. It is not delivered-order profit margin. For a return-heavy forecast, include both the lost packing and your chosen return costs; see RTO meaning and cost and shipping and return deductions.

Use settlement data after sales

A pricing workbook is a forecast. After settlement, use the payment-file profit calculator with the supported workbook described in download and formats. That tool can export a separate SKU cost template, import filled making/packing costs and save them locally. The pricing workbook is not a SKU cost import file.

The synthetic settlement example shows how settled profit differs from forecast profit. Keep both your source report and cost backups; browser storage is not a permanent backup.
